Gregory John â??Greg�? Morrell

Age 46, of Elmira, NY, died unexpectedly at his home on Wednesday, June 8, 2005.Greg graduated on the Dean?s List from Corning Community College and Elmira Free Academy, Class of 1976.He served honorably in the United States Navy as a hospital corpsman from 1976 - 1980 and received an honorable discharge.Greg also served in the US Naval Reserves.He was retired from the U.S. Post Office after a 15-year career and was also a volunteer fireman for the West Elmira Fire Station.He is survived by his parents, Donald and Margaret Morrell of Ormond Beach, FL; his brothers, James (Denise) Morrell of Coral Springs, FL, David (Anne) Morrell of Palmyra, NY, Joel (Margaret) Morrell of Tampa, FL, Christopher Morrell of Daytona Beach, FL; and his sister, Donna (Robert) Rabits of Eustis. FL.Several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews also survive him. Greg was planning to relocate permanently to Florida within the next year to be closer to his family.He was a warm, giving individual with a lighthearted spirit, loved by all of those who knew him, especially his nieces and nephews.Family and friends are invited to call at the Olthof Funeral Home, 1050 Pennsylvania Ave., Elmira, NY on Wednesday, June 15, 2005 from 2-4 and 6-9 pm.Funeral Services will follow the visitation at 9 PM, with Father Jeremiah Moynihan officiating.
