Gustav K. â??Gus�? Leupelt

Age 80, formerly of West Hill Road, Elmira Heights, NY, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 31, 2005 at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center. He was born September 16, 1925 in Elmira, NY, son of the late Gustav F. and Frederica (Hodgkins) Leupelt. ?Gus? married Marie E. Coakley on March 19, 1948. They enjoyed 55 wonderful years of life and love together prior to her death February 9, 2004. His brother, Robert Leupelt and sister, Thelma Drake, also predeceased him.His survivors include his loving daughter, Sharon ?Sherry? (Bruce Cady) Hamilton of Horseheads, NY; granddaughter, Shannan (James) Russ of Horseheads, NY; grandson, Sean Hamilton of Mount Saint Alban, Washington, DC; great grandson, Jared Russ of Horseheads, NY; sister, Virginia (Harold) Erikson of Naples, FL; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, William and Ruthie Miller of Elmira, NY; along with special nephew, Kenny Leupelt; and several other nieces and nephews.?Gus? was a Veteran of the US Army and proudly served his country from 1943 ? 1946. He retired from Servomation in Elmira after several years of dedicated service. He enjoyed gardening, traveling, and had a knack for fixing anything that was broken. Gustav enjoyed his life to the fullest, but most important and precious to him was his family. He loved them all dearly and they will all miss him very much.Family and friends are invited to call at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc., 1050 Pennsylvania Ave., Elmira, NY on Thursday, November 3, 2005 from 4:00 to 6:00 PM. Funeral services celebrating his life will follow the visitation at 6:00 PM, with Father William Lutz officiating.
