Harold Eugene â??Pete�? Freeman

Age 72, of Elmira, NY, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, July 9, 2005.Pete was born September 1, 1932 in Elmira, the son of the late Robert Ayers and Addah C. (Larcon) Freeman. He is survived by his loving companion, Judith A. A´Hearn; sons, Robert ?Bobby? and Susie Freeman of St. Petersburg, FL and Harold ?Butch? and Ora Freeman, Jr. of Gorham, ME; daughter, Tammy Freeman of Elmira, grandchildren, Victoria Freeman, Ashley Freeman, Ora Marie Freeman, Chayton A'Hearn, Brandon, and Joey; brothers, Burton ?Biff? Freeman of Horseheads and Robert Freeman of San Jose, CA; sisters, Nancy Jane and Bill Kistler of Elmira and Ruth and Bob Kelly of Elmira; and several nieces and nephews. Pete worked as a foreman for over 20 years with Skil-Bilt and retired from the NYS Department of Corrections as a correction officer with 20 years of service.He was an avid reader,enjoyed cowboy movies, and loved his grandchildren very much.He was a US Army veteran, servingduring the Korean Conflict and a member of the DAV-Disabled American Veterans Chapter 13 andthe VFW Hoover-Wantuck Post #6083, Elmira Heights. Family and friends are invited to call at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc., 1050 Pennsylvania Avenue, Elmira, NY on Wednesday, July 13, 2005 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM. Funeral services will be held there Thursday at 10 AM with Father Robert Mc Namara celebrating Pete?s life.Interment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery with full military honors being accorded at the grave by the Chemung County Veterans Honors Squad.
