Nichols, Harold B. BABEPassed away peacefully Sunday, December 23rd, 2007 surrounded by his loving family.BABE was a loving husband, father, grandfather and dear friend to many. He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years Joanne (Pfaff) Nichols, children Edward Nichols, Timothy (Tammy) Nichols, Robin Benjamin (Dan Cook), Teri (Jim) Benjamin, Kelly Nichols (Max Bernhard); nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Babe is predeceased by his parents Walter and Inez Nichols, siblings Alvin, Laura, Pete, Ralph, Bill, Donald and Betty. Family and friends are invited to gather at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Avenue, Elmira, NY Thursday, December 27th, 2007 from 2:00PM to 4:00PM and 7:00PM to 9:00PM. Funeral services and committal services celebrating Babes life will be held there Friday morning, December 28th, 2007 at 10:00AM. The Reverend William Vallet will officiate. Interment will be at the convenience of the family. Babe was retired from the Town of Southport Highway Department after many years of dedicated service to his community. He enjoyed spending time at his cottage on Little Lake. He was an avid hunter, who loved watching NASCAR and his favorite driver Rusty Wallace. Most of all he loved having his family home. A very special Thank You to Dr. Schenone, Hannah Froster, IMAST Staff, Gentiva and Hospice staff, for such thoughtful and caring people.
