Harold B. Shafer

Harold B. Shafer, 90, of Pine City, passed away Tuesday, December 15, 2015. He was born in Sullivanville, December 30th, 1924; The son of the late John and Helen (Ennis) Shafer. He is survived by his wife of 70 years Frances Crum Shafer of Pine City; his loving children: Sandra Sterling, Barbara Shafer, Thomas (Susan) Shafer; Daughter in law: Corinne Shafer; 5 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, and 5 great, great grandchildren. He is predeceased by his son John in 2010. Harold was an avid hunter, who loved to garden. He worked for Corning Inc. for several years, loved collecting old cars, John Deere tractors, and antiques. Family and friends are invited to gather at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Avenue, Elmira, NY Friday, December 18th, 2015 from 2:00PM to 5:00PM. Funeral services celebrating Harold’s life will be held at the conclusion of the calling hours at 5:00PM. The Pastor Dan Dykes will officiate.
