Harriett G. Brotzman

Brotzman, Harriett G. age 91 of Elmira, NY passed away Tuesday, May 31st, 2016 at the Chemung County Nursing Facility. Harriett was born in West Grove, Pennsylvania on February 23rd, 1925. She was the daughter of the late Myron and Margaret Gelatt. Surviving is her husband and friend of 69 years: Linn Brotzman; children: Mark (Kaye) Brotzman of Fairport, NY, Sue (Charles) Milazzo of Corning, NY; 5 grandchildren: Rebecca (Erik) Miller, Sean (Jennifer) LaRose, Anne (Christopher) Walters, Laura (Kevin) Mackiewicz, Kate Milazzo (Patrick Lally); and several great grandchildren. Harriett was a devoted member of the New Beginnings Church. Together for 35 years, Harriett and Linn owned and operated the very much missed X-CEL Dairy in the heart of downtown Southport.After retiring from the X-CEL she volunteered countless hours to Meals on Wheels and worked well into her 80s. She and Linn valued the special friends they made through the many Square Dance clubs in the area. She loved her husband, children, grandchildren, and cherished her friends. Family and friends are invited to gather at the New Beginnings Church, 300 E. Miller Street, Elmira, NY on Saturday, June 4th, 2016 from 10:00AM to 12:00PM. Memorial services celebrating Harriett’s life be held at the conclusion of the calling hours at 12:00PM. Pastor Leanne Zeck will officiate. Interment will be held at a time convenient with the family in the Woodlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please make memorials to the New Beginnings Church or Meals on Wheels of Chemung County, 150 Fox St. Elmira, NY14901.
