Harriett May Flewelling

On Saturday, January 25, 2014, Harriett, age 86, realized her desire to be with Christ. She leaves behind her beloved husband, Edward; her precious children, Ed, Jerry, Marggee and Norma Joy; her "daughter's and son's-in-love, Melanie, Iva, Lee Ware, John Richards and Lou and Linda Rubin. She has 12 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren; and will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She is also survived by many "children in the Lord." Until retirement, she was employed by Community Nursing for the Elderly. She was a beloved friend and counselor to many, Sunday School Teacher, worker in the Church Bus Ministry. Titus Woman to a MOPS (Mother of Preschoolers), and enjoyed ministering to inmates in the Chemung County Jail in affiliation with Golden Key Ministries. She was the Director of "The Senior Saints" program at Elmira Christian Center, with her beloved Ed. Family and friends are invited to gather at Elmira Christian Center 235 East Miller Street Elmira, NY on Wednesday, January 29, 2014 from 1:00 to 3:00 PM and 5:00 50 6:00 PM. A Celebration of Harriett's Life will follow the visitation at 6 PM. Reverend David Cook, her pastor and Jerry Flewelling, her son will officiate. Interment will take place at the convenience of the family in Forest :Lawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be directed to Light of Zion P.O.
