Age 88, of Elmira, NY went to be with his Lord on Thursday, February 3, 2005.He is survived by his loving wife, Shirley Brixius McHenry; children, Kathy (George) Burns of Tampa, FL, Patricia Van Patten of Herndon, VA, daughter-in-law, Ann McHenry of Elmira, NY; children, Howard (Yvette) McHenry of Elmira, NY, Donna McHenry of Elmira, NY, Martha (Joseph) Peterson of Spartanburg, SC, Karen (James) Thomas of Elmira, NY, Brenda (Corey) Stricker of Stevensville, MD, James (Lani) McHenry of Chandler, AZ, Betty Jean (Tom) Skinner of Columbia Station, OH, Mary Ann (Leonard) Frye of Elderton, PA, William (Judy) McHenry of Elderton, PA; grandchildren, Rick, Jason, Mark, and Patrick Shores, Heather, Tara, Ryan, and Megan Van Patten, Bryan , Elizabeth, Harry II, Trevor and Kaitlin McHenry, Michael Clark, Mary Peterson, Sarah, Emily, and Melissa Thomas, Bryn and Evy Stricker; great-grandchildren, Justin McHenry and Nicholas Shores. Harry was predeceased by his parents, Harvey & Martha Moore McHenry; brothers, Floyd & Howard McHenry, and son, Edward Dale McHenry.Harry was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, a former employee of Elmira Floral Products and a United States Navy Veteran of World War II.Family and friends are invited to call at Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Ave., Elmira on Friday, February 4, 2005 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM and Saturday from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM with Funeral Service there Saturday at 12:00 PM. The Rev. John McConnell will officiate, followed by a graveside service at Woodlawn Cemetery with full military honors accorded at the grave. In lieu of flowers those wishing may make memorials to the Bath VA Hospital, The Blind Association or the Chemung County Nursing Facility.
