VonNeida, Harry W. Jr.Of Horseheads, NYWas born March 27, 1928 in Elmira, NY the oldest son of the late Harry W. and Mildred (Watts) VonNeida Sr., passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, April 26, 2008 at his home. His loving wife, Donna Marie (Cuda) VonNeida also predeceased him. He is survived by his loving children, sons, Timothy L. (Marie) VonNeida, Daryl E. (Kathie) VonNeida, Thomas G. (Helena) VonNeida; daughters, Jackie A. VonNeida, LuAnn R. Rhode; step-son, Michael Todd Levandoski; brother, Robert VonNeida; grandsons, Scott VonNeida, Brian VonNeida, Kevin Rhode and Tommy VonNeida; granddaughters, Jill Rhode, Corey VonNeida and Heidi Benting; also survived by numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Harry retired form Kennedy Valve after 28 years of dedicated service as foundry superintendent and from Ward Manufacturing also as foundry superintendent/foreman. After retiring, Harry obtained his CDL and drove school bus for the Pennsylvania School Systems. While living in Florida he was a tram driver and closer for the Westin Innisbrook Resort in Palm Harbor, FL. Harry was an avid hunter and fisherman and was a life member of the Hillside Rod and Gun Club in Blossburg, PA. He coached the Pony League, Small Fry and Intermediate League Baseball teams in Southport and served as commissioner of a Small Fry League. He loved to play cards and was a successful poker player most of the time. He liked all sports, but especially liked watching Professional Football and Major League Baseball. Mr. VonNeida was a member of the Clarence A. Oliver American Legion Post # 154 in Elmira Heights, NY. He served his country in the Unites States Navy in the 48th Navel Construction Regiment and was last stationed in Okinawa prior to his honorable discharge in June of 1946. Harry especially loved going out to dinner with family and friends. He also loved his pet Shitzu dog, Cuddles, who was his constant companion for the last 10 years of his life. Family and friends are invited to gather at the Olthof Funeral home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Ave. Elmira, NY 14904 on Tuesday, April 29, 2008 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Funeral Services honoring his life will be held there following the visitation. (8 PM)Dr. Rev. Micheal Spencer will celebrate Harrys service. Interment will take place privately at the convenience of his family in the Arbon Cemetery in Blossburg, PA
