Helen J. Weaver

Formerly of Laurentian Place, Elmira, went home to be with her Lord on Thursday, January 20, 2011 at Bethany Manor. She was born January 22, 1920 in Elmira Heights, NY the daughter of the late Michael and Anna (Moskal) Bedzyk. Her loving husband Lester L. (Jeff) Weaver predeceased her December 28, 1993. Her brothers Rev. Peter Bedzyk, Rev. John Bedzyk and Michael Bedzyk also preceded her in death. She is survived by her beloved son and daughter-in-law, Ronald P. and Kim Weaver who unselfishly and lovingly cared for her throughout the years, adored granddaughters; Christie Weaver and Stacie Weaver; along with several in- laws, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and her church family. Helen was an original member of the former Pentecostal Tabernacle, and was involved in the following ministries with her families church: Sunday School Teacher, played her accordion in the church orchestra, and sang in the church choir. She was a former dedicated employee of Remington Rand. She was a wonderful hostess and hospitable to all who entered her home. Family and friends are invited to call at Elmira Christian Center, 235 East Miller Street, Elmira, NY 14904 on Monday, January 24, 2011 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM. Funeral services honoring her life will be held there on Tuesday, January 25, 2011 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Belvy White celebrating Helen's services. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery where she will be laid to rest with her beloved "Jeff". Memorial donations may be directed to Elmira Christian Academy envelopes will be available at the church. Arrangements have been entrusted to Olthof Funeral Home, Inc.
