Helen K. Wilson

Age 79, went to be with her Lord on Saturday, June 3, 2006 at the Chemung County Nursing Facility after a long illness. Helen was born August 26, 1926 in Elmira Heights, NY the daughter of the late George and Katherine Korolinchak. She was a graduate of Thomas A. Edison High School and for many years was employed in the business office at St. Josephs Hospital, retiring in 1988. She was a member of St. Marys Church in Elmira, was active in the Ladies of Charity and a long time volunteer with the Meals on Wheels and the LPGA Corning Classic. Helen enjoyed bowling, golf, traveling in the south, cooking, rooting for the New York Yankees and family gatherings. She is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Douglas; daughter, Jacqueline; son, Gary both of all Elmira; son, Thomas (Marianne) of Rosendale, NY; sister, Sophie (Lee) Peters, brother-in-law, Adolph Sandberg, dear friend, Isabelle Larrabee; her grandogger Aretha; along with numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, sisters, Mary Sandberg, Anna (Donald) Riker. Helen was a people person who loved to socialize and would often engage strangers in conversation. Family and friends are invited to call at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Ave. Elmira, NY on Wednesday, June 6, 2006 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, June 7th at 9:30 AM in St. Marys Church 224 Franklin Street Elmira. The Reverend Richard Farrell will celebrate the Mass. Interment will follow in St. Peter & Pauls Cemetery.
