ZAHORIAN, Helen Ruth (McIntire, Comfort)Retired Postal ClerkWas born July 21, 1917 in Quimby, Iowa the daughter of the late Alvah and Jenny (Brownmiller) McIntire, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 28, 2008 at the Green Home in Wellsboro, PA at the age of 91. Her first husband, John Comfort and second husband, George Zahorian predeceased her. She was also preceded in death by the following: brother, Kenneth McIntire and his wife Betty; sisters, Ardith Scrivener and her husband, Herbert Scrivener; Thelma Landon; sister-in-law, Pauline McIntire; brother-in-law, Lester Utter; Helen is survived by her loving children: daughter, Bonnie (Justin) OBrian of Lawrenceville, PA; sons, Ronald (Jackie) Comfort of Millerton, PA; Gary (Dawn) Comfort of Gillett, PA; much-loved grandchildren, Scott Comfort of Easton, PA; Tammy (Bill) Grega of Mansfield, PA; Chris (Laurie) Comfort of Elmira, NY; Rachel Comfort of Millerton, PA; adored great grandchildren, Micah Comfort, Katie Comfort and Emme Comfort all of Walnut Port, PA; McKenna Grega and Charisma Grega both of Mansfield, PA; Kylie Comfort and Haley Comfort both of Elmira, NY; brother, Merle McIntire of Athens, PA; sister, Velma Utter of Horseheads, NY; special friends, Bradley and Clara Brewer of Millerton, PA; along with several nieces and nephews. Helen was a faithful and devoted member of the Jackson Summit Baptist Church since 1954 and retired as mail clerk with the US Postal System in Millerton, PA after many years of dedicated service. Family and friends are invited to call at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Ave. Elmira, NY on Wednesday, July 30, 2008 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM. Funeral services honoring her life will be held there the following day at 11:00 AM. Her Pastor, the Reverend Douglas Hodge will celebrate Helens service. Interment will follow in the Alder Run Cemetery, Millerton, PA.
