Henry W. Schindler

Was born July 13, 1930 in Buffalo, NY the son of the late Henry M. and Amelia (Walker) Schindler, went home to be with his Lord on Wednesday, March 21 at the age of 81. On October 12, 1974, Marilyn (Mosch) came into Hank's life. They have enjoyed 37 wonderful years of life and love together and were rarely seen one without the other. His other survivors include: daughters, Sandy (John) Cunningham of Olathe, KS; Pam Kaminsky of Ithaca, NY; sister, Helen Hedden of Randolph, NJ; grandchildren, Sara (Joshua) Falk, Jessica (Matt) Craig; Kelly Kaminsky; great grandchildren, Lincoln Falk; Kaley Craig and Madison Craig; along with several nieces and nephews. Hank was a Veteran of the United States Marine Corp proudly serving his country during the Korean Conflict. He retired from Moore Business Forms as Quality Control Manager after 30 years of dedicated service. He was a faithful member and greeter at the Pennsylvania Avenue United Methodist Church and a big supporter of their food cupboard. Hank was the Concessions Manager at the Chemung County Fair, this was his love for more than 12 years. Family and friends are invited to gather at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Ave. Elmira/Southport, NY on Sunday, March 25, 2012 from 3:00 to 6:00 PM. Funeral services honoring his life will follow the visitation at 6 PM. His Pastor and friend, Bill Vallet will celebrate services for his parishioner, Hank. Interment will take place on Monday, March 26th at 11:00 AM where the Chemung County Veterans Honor Squad will accord Mr. Schindler military honors.
