Howard Charles BeachWas born March 22, 1938 the son of the late Howard and Mary (Mertsoc) Beach passed away very unexpectedly on Saturday, August 29, 2015 at the age of 77. His sister, Elizabeth preceded him in death. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 51 years, Nancy (Moravec) Beach; beloved children: son, Christopher T. Beach; daughters, Catherine A. Beach, Melissa A. Beach and Margaret E. Beach; grandson, Ian M. Gleasman; siblings: Martin (Barbara) Beach, Albert Beach, Margaret (Jim) Easling and Walter(Janet) Beach; brother-in-law, David Bradford; brother-in-law, Bill (Marylin) Moravec; sister-in-law, Marie and departed Nate Wright; along with many nieces, nephews and his loving Dalmatian, "Daisy". Howard was a Veteran of the United States Army proudly serving his country from 1961-1967. He was a dedicated employee for many years with Ingersoll-Rand and retired from Brink's, Inc. Mr. Beach was a Communicant of St. Mary's Church Corning, NY, was a member of the American Legion Post # 746 and Corning Elks Lodge #1071. He was an avid outdoorsman, he loved hunting, fishing and farming as well as I. P. A. beer. His welcoming light-hearted presence and wonderful sense of humor will leave a lasting impression on everyone that knew him. Family and friends are invited to gather at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Ave. Elmira/Southport, NY on Thursday, September 3, 2015 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM. Funeral services honoring his life will follow the visitation at 4 PM. Interment will take place on Friday, September 4th at 11:00 AM in the Bath National Cemetery 1 Veterans Ave. Bath, NY 14810 where Military Honors will be accorded to Mr. Beach.
