Jack Rene Griswold

Jack Griswold, WWII U.S. Navy veteran died at age 87 on March 2, 2015 at Elcor Nursing Home. After WWII he worked 36 years as a pressman at Elmira Quality Printers.Jack was a self-taught master craftsman building furniture and restoring antiques.His pride and joy was the house he built in Horseheads.Jack also enjoyed gardening, antiquing, camping and driving cross-country to visit historical sites and visit family.He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Beverley; sons, Steven (Marie) of Yuma, AZ; Michael (Kathleen) of W. Henrietta, NY; Douglas (Barbara); and granddaughter, Maria of San Jose, CA.It was Jack's wish that there be no calling hours or service.There will be a celebration of his life by his family at a later date.The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Elcor, Maple Creek Meadows for the excellent care he received.Jack's guestbook may be signed in obituaries at www.olthof.com
