Jack S. HotchkissAge 78 died at the Buffalo VA on December 18, 2007. Jack was born in Elmira, NY on November 12, 1929. He spent his life as a painter and decorator. He loved animals, especially his cats. Mr. Hotchkiss was predeceased by his wife of 34 years, Irene, in 1999. They enjoyed fishing together. He is survived by his sisters June Wilcox of Elmira, Edith Tallman of Newfield and several nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews. He served his country during the Korean War from 1951-1953. He was a steadfast member of the American Legion and enjoyed many friendships. Family and friends are invited to call from 11AM to 1 PM on Friday, December 21, 2007 at the Olthof Funeral Home, 1050 Pennsylvania Ave, Elmira. A funeral service honoring Mr. Hotchkisss live will follow at 1 PM with Lay Pastor John Knapp officiating. Interment will take place immediately after at Forest Lawn Memorial Park where he will be accorded full military honors. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the SPCA Animal Shelter, Route 352, Elmira, NY 14903.
