Jack Hugh Porter

Jack H. Porter, age 83 of Zephyrhills, FL passed October 14, 2015 following a brief illness. He was predeceased by his father, Thomas Porter, his mother, Cleo Miller Porter; and one sister, Ruth Porter Sayles.He was survived by one brother, Thomas Porter; four sisters, Betty Porter, Grace Sproul, Dorothy Merchant and Nancy Samsel; and many nephews and nieces. Jack retired from Westinghouse. He owned and operated Twin Tier Gunshop which was later renamed Twin Tier Sports Center. His brother, Thomas ran one of his shops. Jack was a silent partner of Redding Hunter with Richard Beebe in Cortland, NY. He lived in Elmira, NY for many years before moving to Florida. Jack loved the outdoors. He was an avid hunter, enjoyed travel and loved to laugh. His family and friends meant the world to him. He was a good man who kept his eyes on God. Calling hours will be held at Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Ave. Elmira, NY on Sunday evening, October 25, 2015 at 7:00pm to 9:00pm.
