Jacob L. Snyder

Was born on September 18, 1982 and left this world too soon on Tuesday, May 17, 2001 at the age of 28. He is survived by his mother, Judy; father, Bob; brother, Andrew; beloved girlfriend, Karah Herzig; along with maternal grandmother, Mary Seal; paternal grandmother, Barbara Snyder; aunts, uncles, cousins and countless friends. Jacob was a graduate of Southside High School, class of 2001, where he served as Key Club President. He graduated from Mansfield University in 2005 with a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology. Jacob served as the Waterfront Director for the New York State Sherriff's Association Summer Camp on Keuka Lake from 2003-2006. An avid skier and outdoorsman, Jacob worked in various positions within the upstate New York ski industry. For the last five years, Jacob has been the Assistant Manager at Berger's Ski and Snowboard Shop on Market Street in Corning, NY. During his lifetime, he also volunteered for the following organizations: Star Wish, Special Olympics and the American Cancer Society. Family and friends are invited to gather at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Ave. Elmira/Southport, NY on Saturday, May 21, 2011 from 2:00 to 5:00 PM. A Memorial Service celebrating his life will follow the visitation at 5 PM. The Reverend Colleen Parsons will officiate. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be directed to the New York State Sherriff's Association Summer Camp 1000 East Bluff Drive Penn Yan, NY 14527 in memory of Jacob.
