She was reunited with her father and greeted by Her Heavenly father on Friday, April 5, 2013. Jackie mothered 30 + children in foster care over a 25 year span, 2 of which she adopted. Loving sons, Daniel J. (Olga) Knapp of Philadelphia, PA; Jack L. Knapp of Elmira, NY; granddaughter, Lily Grace Knapp of Philadelphia, PA; mother, Myrle Knapp; siblings, Jaynie C. Laprade, John P. (Lesley A.) Knapp, Judi A. (Paul) Bedzyk all of Elmira, NY; nieces, Amanda Lynn (Caleb) Drake, Allison Marie Knapp, Ashley Elizabeth Knapp; nephews, Matthew James Bedzyk (fiancée Brianna Harris), Mitchell Andrew Bedzyk; along with several aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and church families. Jackie was the Christian Education Director for 40 years at Elmira Christian Center. Family and friends are invited to gather at the Elmira Christian Center 235 East Miller Street on Elmira's Southside on Tuesday, April 9, 2013 from 11:00 to 2:00 and 4:00 to 7:00 PM and again on Wednesday, April 10th from 2:00 to 4:00 PM. Funeral services honoring her life will follow the visitation at 4 PM with Pastors David Cook, Chris Sherwood, Brian Harris and Belvy White, celebrating her life. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be directed to a trust fund to be established for her granddaughter, Lily Grace Knapp. Envelopes will be available at the church. Interment will take place at the convenience of the family in Woodlawn Cemetery.
