MESSINGER, James M. (Jim) AKA "DJ Bulldog, Skeet" Was born August 29, 1963 in Elmira, NY the son of James and Margaret (Morrow) Messinger Sr., passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, March 7, 2009 at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center at the age of 45. His maternal grandparents, Mike and Lola Morrow, mother and father-in-law, "Pottsie" and "Winnie" predeceased Jim. On July 13, 1985, he was wedded in Holy Matrimony to his wife, Amanda "Mandy" at the Dixie Bowling Lanes on lane # 24 where he shot his first 300 game. His survivors include: beloved parents, James and Margaret; loving wife of 23 years, "Mandy"; daughter and son-in-law, Kerri (Messinger) and Jesse Conner of Athens, PA: dearly beloved granddaughter, Madison "Maddy" Conner; son, Shane Elliott of Elmira, NY; grandsons, Cameron and Dominick Elliott; granddaughter, Taylor; brothers, Todd Messinger at home; David (Jessica) West of Athens, PA; Rick (Sherri) West of Rome, PA; along with numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and many, many friends. Jim was the night manager of the Dandy Mini Mart on Wilawana Road in Sayre, PA. To say the very least, he was an avid bowler with numerous 300 games, 800 games and was a former PBA member. For several years Jim was a renowned DJ, "Bulldog" with his daughter, Kerri, "Kat" in the surrounding communities. He was well known, well liked and well respected by all who knew him. He will be sorely missed but never forgotten. Family and friends are invited to gather at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Ave. Elmira/Southport, NY on Wednesday, March 11, 2009 from 1:00 to 3:00 PM and 5:00 to 7:00 PM. A celebration of Jim's life will follow the visitation at 7:00 PM. Lay Pastor John P. Knapp will officiate.
