Age 59, of Elmira, NY passed away on Wednesday, October 20, 2004 at home.He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Mary Beth Minchin; mother, Mary Ellen Minchin; sisters, Tina (Joseph) Munn, and Barbara Goldsmith; brother, Brian (Patty) Minchin; mother-in-law, Claire Schultz; devoted companion, ?Ginger? Minchin, several nieces and nephews; devoted friends, Yolanda Lopez, Richard O?Connor and Raymond Coover. He was predeceased by his father, Captain Albert Minchin. James was a retired Captain from the Elmira Police Department. Family and friends are invited to call at Olthof Funeral Home, Inc., 1050 Pennsylvania Ave. Elmira, on Sunday, October 24, 2004 from 1:00 to 3:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 PM with Mass of Christian Burial on Monday at 10:00 AM in St. Mary?s Church, Southside, Reverend Rick Farrell celebrant; followed by graveside prayers at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, those wishing may make memorials to the Chemung County Humane Society, 2435 Route 352, Elmira, NY 14901 or The Southern Tier Hospice, 11751 E.
