James E. “Jimmer” Stanton, 50, of Rochester, NY formerly of Elmira, NY, passed away on Wednesday, April 20, 2016. James was predeceased by his sister, Joann Stanton. James is survived by his loving parents, Nancy and James A. Stanton; siblings, Michael (Judy) Stanton, Julie Stanton, Rita (Rick) Piendel, Daniel Stanton and Robert Stanton; nieces and nephews, Stacey, Richard Jr., Brian, Owen, Kristen, and Rebecca Stanton; aunt, Mary (Scott) Rhode; special friend, Mark Powell. James had a lot of caring friends and will be dearly missed by many. He loved to cook and worked as a manager at Uno’s for many years. Family and friends are invited to gather at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Avenue, Elmira on Tuesday, April 26, 2016 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. A memorial service will follow the visitation at 1 PM. Reverend John DeSocio will officiate. Interment will take place in St. Peter and Paul’s Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
