Passed away November 13, 2006.She peacefully left us after a lifetime of love and service.She is deeply missed.Jane was born September 20, 1937 to Ethel and Malcolm Tuthill of Washingtonville, NY.Her dedication to education began with her graduating as the Valedictorian of her highschool class.She then attended SUNY Brockport and graduated with a degree in Elementary Education.Jane continued her education with a Masters Degree in Education from St. Bonaventure University.While attending SUNY Brockport she met and wed James Runyan.Their marriage would last 42 years until Jims passing away in 2002.Together they adopted and provided a loving home to Greg and Charlie Runyan.Charlie and his wife Suzanne gave Jane the opportunity to be a loving Grandmother to Alyssia and McKenzie Runyan.Jane was fortunate to meet and then wed Richard Palazzoli this year.Together they traveled abroad and shared their love with grandchildren and friends.Jane worked until retirement for the NY State School System as an elementary teacher.Countless kids in Allegheny, Syracuse and Horseheads school districts were touched and helped by her strong belief in education.After retirement, she remained active in the NYS Retired Teachers Association and volunteered at CASA, a program to help kids from troubled homes.Retirement also gave Jane the opportunity to pursue her love of travel.With friends and Richard she traveled extensively in Europe, Central America, Carribean Isles and the United States.Even making two solo trips to visit her son Greg in Alaska.WE LOVE YOU JANE AND MISS YOU.Family and friends are invited to call at Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Ave., Elmira on Wednesday, November 15, 2006 from 3:00 to 7:00 PM.Funeral Services will be held at Centenary United Methodist Church, 424 S. Main Street, Elmira, NY on Thursday, November 16, 2006 at 11:00 AM.Reverend Joseph Kim will officiate.Interment in Woodlawn Cemetery at the convenience of the family.In lieu of flowers, Jane wanted donations made to either the National Foundation for Cancer Research, CASA or any non-profit dedicated to helping children.Envelopes will be provided at the funeral home.The family also wants to thank the staff of the ICU at St. Josephs Hospital, you were wonderful.
