Janet A. LongenbergerFormally of Elmiraof Elmira, New York, and most recently of Hobe Sound, Florida, died September 18, 2008 at the age of 87. Signing her name with a J hand shape rolled over the heart, she was well known in the deaf community in Elmira and Williamsport, Pennsylvania. Working throughout her adult life as a domestic, as an assembler for Capabilities, Inc., and later for Winchester Optical she was a proud mother and a hard worker. She is the cherished mother of Catherine, Harry, Mary and Richard Longenberger and grandmother of Rick, Donna, Terry, Paul, Robert and Lester. After raising her children, they learned that she had adventurous side. She was never afraid to take offers to take a back seat on motorcycle rides.She loved to take to the sky on helicopters or planes and to the sea on ship cruises. Janet took trips to several states throughout the United States; she traveled to Canada, Mexico and the Bahamas. She loved all animals and was especially devoted to her dogs and her last animal that is a Lovebird, named Olive.In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Treasure Coast Hospices, 1201SE Indian St, Stuart, FL. 34997.
