Age 69Of Elmira NY has left this life on earth to be a Guardian Angel in heaven upon passing away at Robert Packer Hospital, Sayre, PA., on Friday, March 7, 2003.The perseverance, tenacity, and sense of humor Jan displayed, while facing her life?s challenges, which she referred to as ?Bumps In The Road?, will forever be an inspiration to her family and all who knew her. She has touched many lives with her caring and kindness. Jan leaves many dear friends both in the Elmira area and Bradenton Florida where she and her husband spent most of the last ten winters.Janice is survived by her devoted husband and best friend of 51 years, Edward; cherished children, Terry (Ellen) McLaughlin of Elmira, NY; Jean (Jeff) Barron of Pine City, NY; Barbara (Tim) Wolosen of Schaghticoke, NY; Richard (Wendy) McLaughlin of Pine City; and Michael (Cary) McLaughlin of Elmira; beloved grandchildren, Mikaela (Tony) McLaughlin of Huntington Beach, CA; Jason (Sabrina) Barron of Virginia; Joseph Barron of Pine City; Jeremy (Andrea) McLaughlin of Horseheads; Nicole McLaughlin of Pine City; and Courtney McLaughlin of Elmira; precious great grandchildren, Austin McLaughlin and Toni McLaughlin of Huntington Beach, CA. Also surviving Janice are her sister; Nancy Vallely of Hawaii, sister in-law Janice McConnell of Lockport, NY, brother in-law Bud (Pat) McLaughlin, sister in-law; Joyce (Bob) Anderson, sister in-law Mae McLaughlin all of Elmira, NY, in addition , a loving ex-daughter in-law, Shelly Walters and many special nieces & nephews and their families.Jan was predeceased by her parents Lester and Marjorie McConnell, brothers Gerould (Jerry) and John (Jack) McConnell, grandson Christopher Barron, brother in-law Donald McLaughlin and sister in-law, Phyllis McConnell.Family and Friends are invited to call at Olthof Funeral Home, Inc., 1050 Pennsylvania Ave., Elmira, NY on Sunday March 9, 2003 from 1:00 to 4:00 PM with Funeral and Committal Service there Sunday at 4:00 PM.
