Jean Dickinson

Passed from this life at the Chemung County Nursing Facility on Tuesday, February 22, 2011. She was born in Brockport, NY on May 22, 1912 the only child of George P. Gardner and Jeanne M. Flagg. She graduated from Keuka Collage in 1933 and married W. Kenneth Dickinson in 1934, who died in 1978. Jean lived in Brockport until moving to Elmira in 1990, where she lived in the Flannery Apartments. Jean was an active member of the community there, among other things she led an exercise class for several years retiring when she was 85. Jean will be greatly missed by her family, son; Richard Gardner Dickinson of Hollywood, FL, his sons; Enrique, Justin and Jamie as well as their mother, Vivian Dickinson, daughter; Rita Dickinson Dery of Catlin, NY and her family, sons; G. Daniel Dery of Manchester, NH, his daughter; Jennifer Lindgren and granddaughter, Mageris Lindgren and son, Christopher R. Dery of Spencerport, NY, his wife; Bonnie and daughters, Danyel L. and Stephany J. A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 26, 2011 at 2:00 pm at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc., 1050 Pennsylvania Avenue, Elmira/Southport. Rev. Gary Chorpenning will officiate.
