Jean M. Mikel

Jean Mikel, a native and resident of Elmira, NY passed away on February 9, 2025 at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center.

Jean was preceded in death by: her parents -Robert and Jean (Vail) Denson; her sisters Kathy and Debbie; her brother-in-law Jeff Mikel and his wife Stacey; and her beloved husband of 48 years, James E. Mikel.

She is survived by: her children -  Andrew (Gina) Mikel, Melinda Gregg, Lisa (Steve) Usselman and Kimberly Mikel; her grandchildren - Christina (Josh) Neutz, Andrew II (Stephanie) and Mikha Mikel, Ryan and Devon Gregg, and Jackie (Chris) Jung and Stevie Usselman; her great-grandchildren Amelo and Amelyia Gregg; her step-mother Sharon Denson; her brother Michael (Sharon) Denson; her sister Sherry (Kevin) Crain; her half-brother Chad (Jessica) Denson; her half-sisters Kristen (Mike) Helm, and Kelly Denson; her brother-in-law Mark (Sue) Rohde; her sisters-in-law Mari (Bill) Keefe, and Nancy (Harv) Rohde; her life-long friend Diane O’Heron;  many, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; and her loyal dog Courage.

There will be a brief visitation at 11:00 AM on Friday, February 14, 2025 at Olthof Funeral Home, 1050 Pennsylvania Avenue in Elmira, with a graveside service to follow at 12:00 PM at  St. Peter & Paul’s Cemetery, 623 Franklin Street, also in Elmira.
