Joan Catherine Halstead

HALSTEAD, Joan CatherineOf Elmira, NYWas born May 11, 1947 in Sayre, PA the daughter of George and Dorothy (Layton) Mason passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving and caring family on Tuesday, December 4, 2007 after a courageous battle with cancer at the age of 60. Her beloved father, George June 29, 1978, predeceased her. She is survived by her loving mother, Dorothy (Mason) Leonard of Athens, PA; beloved sister and brother-in-law, Patricia and Chester VanDuzer Jr. of Sayre, PA; much-loved daughters, Donna Trumbull, Deanna (David) Reidy and Dawn Rossman all of Elmira, NY; adored grandchildren, Michael, Jaret, Allen (AJ), Asheligh, Ariel, Samantha, Korey, Cody and Jamie. Joan was a dedicated member of the Ladies Auxiliary VFW Post # 1536 in Sayre, PA. To say the very least, she was an avid NASCAR fan and enthusiast. Family and friends are invited to call at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Ave. Elmira, NY on Friday, December 7, 2007 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Funeral Services honoring her life will be held there following the visitation. (8 PM) The Reverend James Donahoo will celebrate Joans service.
