Beloved wife and mother who passed away at home, Wednesday, January 5, 2011 surrounded by her loving family. Joan (Joann) Goodwin Nickerson of Pine City is survived by her husband of 61 years, Richard "Nick" Nickerson, her children; Richard "Rick" Nickerson and Ann Albee, Randy and Karyn Nickerson all of Pine City, Joy (Nickerson) and Bob Baldwin of Erin, grandchildren; Kyle Nickerson of Winnemucca, NV, Stacy (Nickerson) and Joe Kalafsky of Wilmington, NC, Eryn Nickerson and Rich Terwilliger of Corning, Joanna (Nickerson) and Thomas Dupay and Steven Nickerson of Pine City, great grandchildren; Nolan and Reagan Terwilliger of Corning, brother; Bill and Dorothy Goodwin of Boise, Idaho, sister; Nancy (Goodwin) and Gary Light of Clarence, NY, lifelong best friend Helen Cunningham of Millport, aunt; Jane Vesely of Horseheads and numerous nieces and nephews.She was predeceased in death by her sister Marilyn (Goodwin) Wilmot of Millport and parents Carl and Eudora Goodwin of Pine City. Calling hours will be held at the Olthof Funeral home, Inc., 1050 Pennsylvania Avenue, Elmira/ Southport on Friday, January 7, 2011 from 4 pm to 7 pm. Funeral and Committal service will be held there Saturday, January 8, 2011 at 10 am. She will be laid to rest in the Maple Grove Cemetery privately at the convenience of her family. Joann was a 1947 graduate of Horseheads High School and a member of Pennsylvania Avenue United Methodist Church. She was a past member of the Southport Business Association and a member of the Eastern Star.
