Joan Marie Shedden

age 77 of Gillett, PA passed away Monday, March 22nd, 2010 at home surrounded by her loving family. Joan was born in Waverly, NY the daughter of the late Karl F. and Bernice F. Bialy Miller. Joan is survived by her children Jeffrey Shedden (Tressa Brown), Christine S. (Darryl) Maynard, and Richard M. (Lori) Shedden Jr.Dan (Sharon) Newbury, Steve Newbury, loving friend and like a daughter Carolyn Mickley whom cared for Carolyn and Richard throughout their lives; Several grandchildren and great grandchildren; Sister Peg (Warren) Fargo of NH; Brothers: John (Beryl)Miller of AZ, James (Susan) Miller of NY and Several nieces and nephews. Joan attended a one room school house on Dry Brook. Then attended and graduated from Waverly High School in the class of 1948. She married Richard "Dick" Shedden and over the years raised a wonderful family and worked together following their dream of building a business that has become well known throughout the area. Family and friends are invited to call a the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania avenue, Elmira, NY Thursday, March 25th, 2010 from 2:00PM to 4:00PM and 7:00PM to 9:00PM. Funeral and committal services will be held at the conclusion of the calling hours at 9:00PM. The Reverend Donald Rockwell will officiate.
