Age 70 of Elmira, NY passed away on Saturday, March 31, 2007 surrounded by his family at Robert Packer Hospital, Sayre, PA following an extended illness.Born May 20, 1936 the son of the late Alonzo and Winifred (Pickett) Lukeman of Boston, MA.He is survived by his children; John T.(Denise) Lukeman of Glenwood, NY, Michele E. Cleveland of Oneonta, NY and LTC Carlton C. Cleveland of NYSANG, also Beth A. Lukeman of Elmira, NY, grandchildren; PFC U.S.M.C., Shawn Lukeman of Camp LeJuene, NC, Rachel Lukeman of Glenwood, NY, Hannah Lukeman of Glenwood, NY, Catherine Cleveland of Oneonta, NY, and several nieces and nephews; Megan Cleveland of Oneonta, NY, sister; Winifred Lukeman, of Elmira, NY, brother; Michael Lukeman of Naples, FL and also his special companion his dog Riley.His loving wife, Anna M. Lukeman and his brother, Edward Lukeman, also predeceased him. John served in the United States Air Force and he worked for Moore Business Forms of Elmira, NY.He was also served in the New York State Army National Guard, before becoming a Corrections Officer at The Elmira Correctional Facility from which he retired. He had many interest including hunting, & bowling along with coaching football and being a Boston Red Soxs fan. But he truly enjoyed playing Santa Claus at Christmas and playing Bingo to win stuffed animals for his grandchildren.Family and friends are invited to call at Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Ave. on Monday April 2, 2007 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM with Mass of Christian Burial Tuesday at 10:30AM in St. Marys Church, Franklin St. Elmira, Reverend Richard Farrell celebrant, followed by graveside service with military honors at St. Peter & Pauls Cemetery, Elmira, NY.
