John P. Near

A Town of Elmira resident, John, was born July 1, 1960 in Elmira, NY.He was the son of the late Gerald Quentin and Jeanette Ann (Stirpe) Near .John passed away very unexpectedly on Friday morning, November 21, 2008 at Arnot Ogden Medical Center. His son, Andrew Near of Binghamton, NY; brother, David Near; loving companion and best friend, Rhonda Mullaney of Elmira, NY; and her daughter, Sarah Mullaney, at home, survive him. John was a dedicated supervisor for O'Connor Plumbing and Heating. Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service on Tuesday, November 25, 2008 at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc., 1050 Pennsylvania Ave., Elmira, NY at 6:00 PM. The Reverend Douglas Hodge will celebrate John's services.
