John S. Oã‚´Connor

Age 76, of Elmira, NY, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, August 19, 2005. John was the son of the late and former Elmira Police Chief, John J. and Ellen (Scopes) O?Connor.He is survived by sisters, Patricia A. Roemelt of Swain, NY and Mary Ellen Marks of Elmira, NY; brothers, Richard J. O?Connor of Elmira, NY and R. Michael O?Connor of N. Attleboro, MA; along with numerous nieces and nephews. John was a Veteran of the United States Army, proudly serving during the Korean War. He was a retired Fire Fighter with the Elmira Fire Department and was also a former Elmira Policeman.It was John?s request that there be no prior calling hours.
