John F. Puro

PURO, JOHN F.John F. Puro, 91, died on October 20, 2012, after a short illness. John lived on the southside of Elmira for 64 years. John was predeceased by his wife, Dorothy Tate Puro, his brothers, Henry and William, and his sister, Fannie. He is survived by his children: Dr. Donald (Debbie) Puro, Linda Dudman, Barbara (Robert) Rosenthal, Nancy (Stephen) Yarnell, 11 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.A memorial service will be held at 2pm on Saturday, November 10, at Olthof’s Funeral Home Inc.in Elmira. Visiting hours will follow from 2:30 pm to 4:00 pm. The family will hold a private graveside celebration of John’s life. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in John’s name may be made to the Arnot Ogden Memorial Hospital, AOMC Auxiliary, 600 Roe Avenue, Elmira, NY 14905, where he volunteered for 9 years, or to The American Red Cross (www.redcross.org/charitable-donations).
