Joseph Patrick Beckwith Formerly a resident of Sebring Ave. Pine City, NY was born January 2nd, 1940 in Elmira, NY, the son of the late Ernest and Florence (Whalen) Beckwith, passed away with family at his side on the day he and his beloved Barbara celebrated 50 wonderful years of life and love together; Wednesday, November 9, 2016. His brothers: James, Robert and Richard Beckwith preceded him in death. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife: Barbara (Comfort) Beckwith; sons: Thomas (Tricia) Beckwith, Robert (Deb) Beckwith, Patrick (Beth) Beckwith, Scott Pautz and Matt (Rachael) Pautz; daughters: Marilee (Ron) Liddick, Lisa Fanelli (Bryan Zolkosky), Kerry (Ken) Peworchik and Donna (Bobby) Caudill; daughter-in-law: Patti Pautz; former wife: Beverly Moffe; grandchildren: Caitlin, Michael, Ellen, Jodi, Sarah, JJ, Eric, Danny, Mollie, Emily, Andrew, Seamus, Caleb, Gage, Christopher, Anthony, Alivia, Tyler, Jacqui, Marcus, Vern and KJ; along with 6 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Joseph was a communicant of St. Mary's Church, was employed for many years at Facet, was an Ombudsman for Bethany Manor for 5 years and volunteered for Meals on Wheels. Joe was generous, kind and big hearted and would welcome anyone into his home. Family and friends are invited to gather at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc., 1050 Pennsylvania Ave., Elmira/Southport, NY on Sunday, November 13, 2016 from 3:00 to 6:00PM. A Prayer Service will be held there on Monday, November 14th at 10:15AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00AM in St. Mary's Church, 224 Franklin St., Elmira. The Reverend John DeSocio will celebrate the Mass. Interment will follow in St. Peter & Paul's Cemetery where the Chemung County Veteran's Honor Squad will accord Mr. Beckwith with Military Honors and Father DeSocio will offer committal prayers. Memorial donations may be directed to the SPCA, 2435 Route # 352, Elmira, NY 14903 or to Notre Dame High School, 1400 Maple Ave., Elmira, NY 14904.
