Joseph F. Cook

Was born October 22, 1938 in Elmira, NY the son of the late Frank and Antoinette (DelMonte) Cook, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 4, 2012 at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center at the age of 73. He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Sandra (Miller) Cook; sons, Mark (Lori) Cook with their children, Michelle Cook, Sarah (Jeff) Kane, Julie (Seth) Griffin and Jennifer Cook; Steven Cook (fiancée Karen Watkins) and their children, Heather Cook, Erin Cook, Joseph Cook, Michael Ficarro, Catherine Ficarro and Rylie Ficarro; 7 great grandchildren; sister, Anna (Jim) Boykin; along with several nieces and nephews. Joe was a Veteran of the US Air Force and proudly served his country from 1956 to 1962. He retired from the Hilliard Corp. after 38 years of dedicated service as a clutch assembler. Family and friends are invited to gather at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Ave. Elmira/Southport, NY on Sunday, January 8, 2012 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM. Funeral services honoring his life will follow the visitation at 4 PM. Lay pastor John P. Knapp will officiate. Interment will take place at the convenience of his family in the Woodlawn National Cemetery. The Family will provide their own flowers. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be directed to the American Cancer Society Southern New York Region 13 Beech Street Johnson City, NY 13790 or to a charity of one's choice.
