Age 87, of the Bradford County Manor, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 14, 2004. Joseph was predeceased by his wife of 56 years, Katie, in 2002; and great-granddaughter, Angela DeLosa in 1999. He is survived by his daughter and her husband, Diana and Allen DeLosa of Mosherville, PA; grandchildren, Allen and Andrea DeLosa, Michael and Annette DeLosa, Michelle and John Alexander, and Denise DeLosa; seven great-grandchildren, Allen, Madeline, Caitlin, Michael, Madison, Tyler, and Kris.His surviving siblings are his brother and wife, Nino and Franca Mistretta of Long Island; sister, Antoinette Rotella of Florida; and sister, Lilla of Sicily. Joseph was born in Argrigento, Sicily on July 21, 1917.He came to America in 1947 and shortly afterwards, became a U.S. citizen.He was an excellent shoemaker and loved his trade.He owned his own shoe repair business in Flushing, NY for 30 years.He was an accomplished musician, playing many instruments, such as the guitar, banjo, mandolin, and harmonica.After retiring, he and his wife, Katie, moved to Pennsylvania to be closer to their daughter and grandchildren.Joe was always such a good-natured, ?happy-go-lucky? person.He was always singing and whistling with all the nurses and aides at the Manor.Besides being a Dad and Grandpa, he was ?Uncle Joe? to many nieces and nephews.He will be forever missed, but will always be in our hearts. Family and friends are invited to call at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc., 1050 Pennsylvania Ave., Elmira, NY on Thursday, October 21, 2004 from 4 to 7 PM, with funeral services immediately following at 7 PM.The Rev. Laurie Greenlaw will officiate.Interment will take place in the Baptist Hill Cemetery, Coryland, PA on Friday, October 22, 2004 at 11:30 AM.
