Joseph Patrick Rich

Age 55, died very unexpectedly and peacefully at home on Saturday, October 21, 2006.Joe is survived by his loving wife of 24 years, Cynthia; daughter, Allison; son, Joseph (girlfriend Jessica Hooey); stepson, Richard Thompson and his daughter, Brittini Ann Thompson; mother, Edith Rich; mother-in-law, Dorothy Park; sisters, Theresa (Lewis) Hamula of OH, Gertrude Sister (Joseph) Harper of Rochester, Mary (Robert) Cohen of NV; sisters-in-law, Jeanette Cunningham and Joanne Rich both of Elmira; brother-in-law, Tim Park of White Deer, PA; cousins; several loving nieces, nephews, as well as great nieces, and great nephews will be missing their Uncle Joe; also survived by Phoebe.He is predeceased by his father, Nicholas Rich; brothers, Michael and Nicholas Rich; father-in-law, Wilford Parkie Park; brother-in-;aw, Henry Rudy Cunningham.Joe graduated from EFA in 1969 and served his country in the Army until 1972 when he returned home to help his family recover from the flood of 72.Joe and his dad Nick established Richs Coil Cleaning in 1973, lovingly referred to as Nick and the kid.Since 1983, Joe has been the sole proprietor and over the years has acquired many close friends.He was loved by all who knew him.Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. is assisting the family with arrangements.Please join family and friends to celebrate Joes life by reminiscing and exchanging stories at Manzaris Grill, 105 East Miller Street, Elmira between 4:00 and 8:00 PM on Friday, October 27, 2006.In lieu of flowers, please make donations to St. Josephs Hospital Foundation, 555 East Market Street, Elmira, NY 14901.Those wishing may leave a Candle of Remembrance for the family in Obituaries at www.olthof.com .
