Joyce O. Olin, age 78 of Horseheads, NY, went to be with her Lord on Sunday, October 23, 2016 at the Robert Packer Hospital. Joyce was predeceased by her parents, John and Ida Mae Osborne; and brother, Jack Osborne. Joyce is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Howard Olin, Jr.; children, Renee Olin of Horseheads, NY, Terri Olin of Hudson, NY, and Lynne (Kevin) Wellerman of Ruther Glen, VA; best friends, Kate Mitchell and Ruth Wright; several cousin and many beloved friends. Joyce graduated from Southside High School Class of 1956, Mansfield University Class of 1960. She was a dedicated school teacher who began her teaching career at the Painted Post School district for three years then moved on to the Elmira City School District, where she spent 33 years. She loved to sing and play her different instruments. Joyce loved to spend time on the lake with her family and her friends. She also crocheted wonderful blankets for gifts and many that she donated to different organizations. Joyce was a loving wife, mother and friend with a heart of gold that will be missed by everyone. Calling hours will be held at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc., 1050 Pennsylvania Ave., Elmira on Friday, October 28, 2016 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM and from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Funeral services will take place on Saturday, October 29, 2016 at 10:00 AM with a burial to follow in the Maple Grove Cemetery.
