Joyce M. Updike

Age 76 of Elmira, NY passed away unexpectedly at her home on Tuesday June 24, 2003.She is survived by her sons and daughter in-law; Richard Updike, and Larry (Mary) Updike all of Elmira, NY; aunt, Gilly Miller of Elmira, NY; and several cousins, nieces, nephews and close friends.Joyce was predeceased by her husband, Richard Updike, parents John and Dona (McCrudden) Wilkins, and stepfather, Dick McCrudden.She was the owner/operator of J-Way Beauty Salon in Elmira, for many years.She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Elmira Eagles Club, and in her spare time, she enjoyed playing bingo, dominos, and cards with her many friends.Family and friends are invited to call at Olthof Funeral Home Inc., 1050 Pennsylvania Ave., Elmira on Friday, June 27, 2003, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM with Funeral Service there Saturday at 10:00 AM.Reverend Dennis Christiansen will officiate.
