Juanita G. Taylor

Was born December 16, 1921 in Elmira, NY, the daughter of the late Thomas F. and Ruth (Plank) Good, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 3, 2006 at the Brook Grove Nursing Facility in Sandy Springs, MD at the age of 84. Her beloved sisters, Martha Weakland and Pearl Burt predeceased her. She is survived by her loving children, Paulette (Alan) Strong of Ballston Spa, NY; Dr. Linda (Tom) Fearon of Brookville, MD; Michael Jay Taylor of Elmira, NY; much-loved grandsons, Todd Strong and Michael Jay (Gail) Taylor II; along with several nieces and nephews. Juanita graduated in 1940 from Southside High School and was the Vice President of her class. She has faithfully maintained all of the records of her class since 1940 and organized all of the class reunions for her class including their 60th. After several dedicated years of service, she retired from Panosians. Juanita was a member of the First Baptist Church here in Elmira. In her free time she enjoyed going to rummage sales and loved finding a good sale. A gathering of family and friends will take place on Saturday, July 29, 2006 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Ave. Elmira, NY 14904 followed by a Memorial Service honoring her life celebrated by her son-in law, Allan Strong. Interment will take place privately at the convenience of the family in the Woodlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be directed to a charity of ones choice in her memory.
