Jaynes, Judith Age 76, born March 7, 1940 in Horseheads, NY and a resident of Southport, NY for 44 years, went to be with her Lord after a 2 ½ year battle with breast cancer. She retired from Elmira City School district after more than 22 years of service.Judy was predeceased by her father and mother, Norman and Edith (Miller) Wood; mother and father in law, Leon and Blanche(Webb) Jaynes; aunt, Ruby Miller; brothers, Richard (Dickie) Wood, Franny (Norman) Wood; sister, Norma Costello; and brother in law, Donald Baxter. She is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Ramond E. Jaynes; daughters, Cheryl Marshall (Dale Fayerweather) and Candice Jaynes (Zach Bixby); 5 grandchildren, Patrick Marshall (Kayla Mallacoccio), Trevor (Antonella) Marshall, Christopher (Nichole) Hyjek, Caleb Hyjek and Abigail Marshall; and 7 great grandchildren, Samuel, Benjamin, Ezra, Rowen, Logan, Jaxon Marshall, and Mantle Hyjek; brother, Robert (Marie) Wood, Roger (Sandy) Wood; sisters, June Baxter, Roberta Mullins, and Gloria Rusin; sisters in law, Marylou (Bob) Sardo and Jean Wood; many nieces and nephews; her lifelong friend, Lorraine (Gene) Buholski and best friend and shopping buddy, Debbie (Jim) Kremer. She attended Big Flats Wesleyan Church and was a 50-year member of Oakwood United Methodist Church. She loved spending time with family and friends. She was truly gifted in her creating of hand crafted greeting cards and enjoyed many years of ceramics. She was an avid golfer who enjoyed golfing with her husband and her golf league of girls from Broadway Middle School. She truly enjoyed their summer camp at the lake each year. Family and Friends are invited to gather at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc., 1050 Pennsylvania Ave, Elmira, NY 14904 on Tuesday, May 17th, 2016 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Funeral Services celebrating Judy Jaynes life will immediately follow at 6:00 PM. Pastor Alex Ruffer will officiate.
