Katharina Rau

Age 94 of 848 Broadway, Elmira, NY passed away Friday, August 6, 2004 at home with her loving daughter Kathrine Kast at her side.Katharina was born in Hungary; she always felt blessed with her loving family. She was a very kind person to all her family and friends, especially sharing her joy for cooking and gardening. The sunlight in her day was her great-granddaughter, Katrina. Also surviving her, besides her daughter Katherine, are her grandchildren; Christa and Paul Campbell of Rochester, NY and John Kast of Elmira, NY; great-granddaughter, Katrina Campbell of Rochester, NY. Her beloved husband, John Rau predeceased her in 1985, as did her loving brother, Kasper Pickelhaupt, in 1998. Katharina was a member of First United Church of Christ in Elmira.Family and friends are invited to call at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Avenue, Elmira, NY on Sunday, August 8, 2004 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM and Monday, August 9, from 10:00 to 11:00 AM.Funeral services will be held there at 11:00 AM Monday.
