Katherine L. Park

Katherine Lora (Johnson) Park (Morrell)Known by many as "Kay", was born March 25, 1921 in Sayre, PA the daughter of the late George Herbert and Grace (VanBuren) Johnson, passed away peacefully with her family at her side on Saturday, April 25, 2015 at the age of 94. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Wilbur Park; second Jack Morrell; son, Fred Park; brother, George Johnson; sisters, Phyllis Bloss and Jean Chevalier; brother-in-laws, Donald Bloss and Thomas Besecker; sister-in-law, Mary Johnson. Kay is survived by her loving children, Sally (Larry) Johnson of Florida; JoAn (Bill) Galpin of Elmira, NY; John (Gale) Park of Ithaca, NY; Toni Sue (Fred) Swayze of Van Etten, NY; sister, Janice Besecker of Sayre, PA; brother, Dick Johnson of Sayre, PA; along with 15 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, 8 great great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Kay was a dedicated employee of the former Howard Johnson's Restaurant, starting as a waitress and retiring as Hostess. She was an avid baseball fan and was crazy about her New York Mets. Family and friends are invited to call at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Ave. Elmira/Southport, NY on Thursday, April 30, 2015 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Funeral services honoring her life will follow the visitation at 1 PM. Lay Pastor John P. Knapp will officiate. Interment will follow in St. Peter & Paul's Cemetery.
