Was born March 17, 1954 in Elmira, NY the daughter of the late Robert and Jean (Vail) Denson passed away on Wednesday, May 16, 2012 at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center. Her son, James Joseph, brother-in-law, Larry Stein, sister-in-law, Eileen Agan, mother-in-law, Margaret Stein and brother-in-law, David Olsen preceded her in death. She is survived by her loving husband of 40 years, James; son, Brian with daughter-in-law, Andrea; grandson, Aidan Matthew Stein; sisters, Jean (Jim) Mikel, Debra Payne, Sherry (John) Green; brother, Mike (Sharron) Denson; sister-in-laws, Elizabeth Stein, Margaret Stein and Kathleen Stein; brother-in-laws, Walter (Carol) Stein, John (Esperanza) Stein, Thomas (Susan) Stein and Robert (Kathleen) Stein; along with numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly. Kathy's passion was her family, especially her grandson Aidan. She was also looking forward to her soon to be granddaughter, Alexa. She is also survived by her golden retrievers, Nugget, Ginger and Cinnamon. Her career was as follows: partner of the Love-N-Learn Day Care Nursery, branch manager for the Chemung Canal Bank and branch manager for Visions Federal Credit Union, Elmira. She also served on the board of directors for the Food Bank and Meals on Wheels. Kathy was always there to lend a helping hand to whoever needed one. Whether it be babysitting (her favorite) to financial advice or just to simply listen. Family and friends are invited to gather at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Ave. Elmira/Southport, NY on Sunday, May 20, 2012 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, May 21, 2012 in St. Peter and Paul's Blessed Sacrament Church 161 High Street at 11:30 AM with Reverend Rick Farrell to celebrate Kathy's Mass. Interment will follow in St. Peter and Paul's Cemetery with Father Farrell conducting the committal prayers. Those wishing may direct memorial donations in Kathy's name to the Food Bank or Meals on Wheels. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
