Kenneth L. Congdon

Age 85, passed away on Thursday, April 19, 2007 at Chemung County Nursing Facility.He was born April 28, 1921 to the late William & Nettie (Freeman) Congdon.He is survived by his children; Kenneth Kevin Congdon and wife Barbara, Susan Senn; grandchildren, Mike & Mark Miller, Richard, Julie & Jean LaBarr; great grandchildren, Charlie & Jared LaBarr, Katelynn Miller, Joshua Miller; niece, Betty Joan Congdon; special mention, Maureen Mo Herman, Connie & Jason Frisbie, Jim Swift.Ken was predeceased by his wife, Margaret E. Orshal Congdon in 1995, his daughter, Bonnie Congdon Miller in 2002; siblings, Alice Conley, Almond Ally Congdon, Alfred Congdon, Leon PeeWee Congdon.He was a member of the American Legion, Softball Hall of Fame, and loved fishing.Ken retired from Kennedy Valve after many years of service, and was a member of the First Baptist Church. He played guitar with local musicians Rytham Range Riders, Eddie Rhode and Dobber Watson. Family and friends are invited to call at Olthof Funeral Home, Inc., 1050 Pennsylvania Ave., Elmira on Sunday, April 22, 2007 from 3 to 5 PM with funeral service there at 5:00 PM.Reverend Dennis Christiansen will officiate.Interment in Forest Lawn Memorial Park at the convenience of the family.
