Kent W. Spencer

Age 59, went to be with the Lord, Thursday morning, December 9, 2004 surrounded by his loving family, after a courageous battle with cancer.He is survived by his loving wife and best friend, Diane; daughters, Melissa (Jason) Matthews of Elmira, Michelle (Charles) Butler of Elmira and Melinda Herr; granddaughters, Desirae and Emelia; mother, Mary Spencer of Corning; loving sisters, Sandra (Richard) Sampson of NC, Kathy Moore of Elmira and Joan Getman of Pine City; along with extended family and friends.Kent was predeceased by his father, Walter Spencer.He was a corrections officer for NYS and a weapons & training officer.Family and friends are invited to call at Olthof Funeral Home, Inc., 1050 Pennsylvania Ave. on Sunday, December 12, 2004 from 10 to 12 PM and 2 to 5 PM with a memorial service at First Baptist Church of Elmira, 121 W. Church Street, at 6:00 PM Sunday evening.Pastor Donald Guiles will officiate.
