Laverne A. Kintz

Age 77, of Pine City passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, March 3, 2011. LaVerne "Bernie" was born July 9, 1933 in Pottsville, PA. She is predeceased by her parents, Clarence and Veronica (Kleman) Bercher; husband, Ronald H. Kintz; grandson, Daniel J. Kintz and brother, Paul Hart. She is survived by her children; Ronald J. (Judy) Kintz of Pine City, Bonny (Dan) Huston of Boston, MA, Robert (Barbara) Kintz of Portsmouth, NH, Jim (Lynne) Kintz, Barbara (Michael) Ginalski and Teresa Kintz all of Pine City. She also leaves behind grandchildren; Jennifer (Rick) Vary, Mallory Kintz, Rebecca (Andrew) Vinas, Erin (Harry) Noel, Patricia Huston, Kimberly Huston, Derek Kintz, Devin Kintz, Matthew Kintz, Sarah (Corey) Farr, Julie (Sgt. Devon) McGinnis, Mary Kintz, Staff Sgt. Michael (Leigh) Ginalski, great grandchildren; Emma, Lilly, Landon, Hannah, Audrey and Natalie Jane. Siblings; Teresa Mellin, Terry Reid, Butch (Frankie) Bercher, Barbara (Mark) Johnston, Sheila Dilmore and several nieces and nephews. LaVerne was a graduate of St. Joseph's Hospital School of Nursing and Owner of Erway Ambulance Service. She loved her family above all things and was especially devoted to her grandchildren and great grandchildren. LaVerne loved the ocean and spent many hours enjoying the beauty of the waves from the rocky coast in Cape Cod to the sunny shores of Myrtle Beach. She will be remembered for her quick wit, sarcastic humor and warm heart. She will be truly missed by all. Family and friends are invited to call at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc., 1050 Pennsylvania Avenue, Elmira/Southport on Monday, March 7, 2011 from 1 pm to 3 pm and 6 pm to 8 pm. Funeral and committal service will be held at the funeral home Tuesday, March 8, 2011 at 10:00 am with Deacon George Welch officiating.
