Age 85 of Columbia Crossroads, PA, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 19, 2005 at St. Joseph?s Hospital, Elmira, NY, surrounded by his family.The son of the late Charles and Anna Doud, Lawrence is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Veronica Doud; son, Larry Doud; daughter and son-in-law, Margaret and Gordie Calkins all of Columbia Crossroads, PA;grandchildren, Christa, Diana, Mary, and Gordie, Jr; sisters-in-law, Margaret Stein, Anna McKlevis, Marie Doud; sister, Alice Ingham; brother, Phillip Doud; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, good neighbors, and friends. He was predeceased by his infant daughters, Ellen Lorraine and Kathleen Anne; brother, Charles; sister Jane and brother-in-law, Joseph McKlevis, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; James and Gertrude McKlevis and Peter and Rita Gilbert.Lawrence was a communicant and usher at St. John?s Catholic Church in Troy, Pa.He was a dedicated farmer all of his life and a talented woodworker, who loved his family, his farm and his horses. He truly loved the land and what he could grow from it.
