Leah Mae (Sheive) Jennings Age 85, died Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at her home on Jennings Road in Millerton, PA, after a lengthy illness. Leah Mae was born on November 22, 1930 in Elmira, NY to the late Merton and Cleo Sheive. She was the firstborn of five children and lived her entire life in the Millerton area as a farm wife. She represented the new Williamson High School as their first Laurel Queen candidate at the Wellsboro Laurel Festival. She was also the Valedictorian of the first Williamson High School graduating class. She married Donald L. Jennings on October 20, 1951. They were married for 65 years and together they operated Jenningscress Farm, a registered Holstein dairy. Leah Mae is survived by her husband, Donald; son, Richard E. Jennings and his wife, Susan; daughter-in-law, Nancy (Scott) Jennings; six grandchildren, Sara, twins Heather and Renee, Barbara, Jeffrey, Russel; and great grandchildren, Clayton, Joel and Weston. She is also survived by her sister, Jackie (Sheive) Jerzak and husband, Arnie; brother, Lester Sheive and wife, Sharon; and other family members and friends. Leah Mae is preceded in death by her parents, Merton and Cleo Sheive; her sisters, Marjorie Sheive and Patricia Sheive; and son, Ronald L. Jennings. The family of Leah Mae (Sheive) Jennings wishes to thank the Guthrie Hospice nurses for their assistance and excellent care. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, September 3rd at 11:00AM in the Glenwood Cemetery, Troy, PA. An outdoor cookout with photos and remembrances will be held immediately after the service at son, Richard Jennings’ home off Route 6 east on Mansfield, 620 East Mulberry Hill Road, Mansfield, PA 16933.The family invites all who can attend to also bring your memories and photos to share in a comfortable casual atmosphere.
